Слово на отпевании Надежды Шульгиной
Во имя Отца и Сына и Св. Духа.
Необычное прощание совершаем мы сегодня. И всех нас, собравшихся здесь, объединяют одни и те же чувства. Надя собрала на свой гроб множество людей, привлечённых красотой ее души, которую всякий, кто только встречал ее, мог сразу заметить.
Надя обладала редкой красотой души. В ней было сочетание сильного, мужественного, решительного характера и способности сострадания и заботы о ближних.
Когда Надя узнала свой диагноз, она вначале пережила шок. Почему это случилось со мной? Ответ на этот вопрос можно услышать только в своём сердце. И Надя услышала этот ответ: Господь послал ей эту болезнь для покаяния. И она приняла волю Божию со смирением.
Все, кто общались с ней в этот последний год ее жизни, прежде всего удивлялись, какая она была радостная, веселая, хотя она была обречена, и жизнь ее не была легкой, потому что болезнь постепенно брала своё. Надя готовилась к переходу в будущую жизнь покаянием, а покаяние должно быть радостным.
Надя показала нам всем пример, как радостно нужно готовиться ко встрече с вечностью, без скорби расставаясь с этой временной жизнью.
Ее болезнь и преждевременная кончина — это великая скорбь для ее родственников и всех нас. Но наша скорбь соединена с радостью, потому что мы верим, что Надя отошла туда, где нет скорбей и болезней, а только бесконечная радость.
Почему Господь забрал ее от нас? Мы не ответим на этот вопрос лучше, чем книга Премудрости Соломоновой:
«Бог возлюбил ее, и взял ее от среды грешников. Он забрал ее, чтобы злоба не изменила разума ее, или коварство не обольстило души ее. Душа ее была угодна Господу, потому и поспешила она оставить страну нечестия» (Премудрости Соломона 4, 10–14).
Да упокоит Господь ее душу в Своих небесных обителях, а ее родителям и родным да пошлет утешение в их скорби.

Eulogy at Nadia Shulgin’s funeral
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
We are making an unusual farewell today. And all of us gathered here share the same feelings. Nadia gathered on her coffin a multitude of people, attracted by the beauty of her soul, which anyone who had just met her could immediately notice.
Nadya had a rare beauty of soul. She had a combination of a strong, courageous, determined character and an ability to be compassionate and caring for others.
When Nadia found out her diagnosis, she was shocked at first. Why did this happen to me? The answer to this question can only be heard in your heart. And Nadya heard this answer: the Lord sent her this illness for repentance. And she humbly accepted God’s will.
Everyone who came into contact with her in this last year of her life was first of all surprised at how joyful and cheerful she was, although she was hopeless, and her life was not easy, because the illness was gradually taking its toll. Nadia was preparing for the transition to the future life through repentance, and repentance should be joyful.
Nadia showed us all an example of how joyfully one should prepare to meet eternity, parting with this temporal life without regret.
Her illness and untimely death is a great sorrow for her family and for all of us. But our sorrow is combined with joy, because we believe that Nadia has departed to a place where there are no sorrows and pain, but only endless joy.
Why did the Lord take her away from us? We cannot answer this question better than the book of the Wisdom of Solomon:
“God loved her, and took her from among sinners. He took her away, lest wickedness should alter her understanding, or deceit beguile her soul. Her soul was pleasing to the Lord, and therefore she hastened to leave the land of wickedness” (Wisdom of Solomon 4:10-14).
May the Lord give rest to her soul in His heavenly abodes, and may He send consolation to her parents and relatives in their sorrow.
