Христос Воскресе!
Возлюбленные о Господе отцы, братия и сестры,
“Величит душа моя волею страдавша и погребена, и воскресшаго тридневно от гроба” — так поем мы на пасхальной заутрене.
Христос воскрес, ибо смерть не могла удерживать Начальника жизни. Он стал первенцем из мертвых, открывшим путь к воскресению всем верующим в Него.
Да возрадуются души наши о Господе, столько возлюбившем род человеческий, создавшем нас и введшем в эту жизнь. Благословен Бог, един Сущий, источник жизни и бессмертия, источивший и нам жизнь от Своего изобилия жизни.
Благословен Бог, давший нам душу от Своего Божественного вдохновения, по Своему образу и подобию. Мы свои, близкие и сродные Богу, как говорит Апостол.
Благословен Бог, нас, отпадших от Него обольщением диавольским, не презревший, но воскресивший нас с Собой и сделавший способными вечно жить с Ним.
«Благословен Бог наш, благоволивший так все устроить о нас. Слава Тебе!» (чин литургии).
Почему так многие оставляют Бога и не желают веровать в Него?
Когда человек, достойный доверия, рассказывает нам что-либо, то мы обычно принимаем его рассказ на веру, не требуя доказательств. Как же можно сомневаться в Богооткровенной истине, предвозвещенной пророками, проповеданной апостолами, изъясненной святыми отцами, засвидетельствованной мучениками и бесчисленным сонмом святых? Ведь это явное безумие: отвергать очевидную истину, утверждаемую таким множеством свидетелей.
К современному человечеству в полной мере относятся слова св. Ап. Павла, сказанные им о язычниках, не познавших Христа: «Они, называя себя мудрыми, обезумели… И как они не заботились иметь Бога в разуме, то предал их Бог превратному уму — делать непотребства» (Рим. 1).
И вот, два тысячелетия спустя, мы опять пришли к той же исходной точке.
Человечество воздвигло огромный идол земного разума, которому все должны поклоняться, от малых лет до старости.
Гордый, самонадеянный человеческий разум все почитает ниже себя, обо всем выносит суждение, все ставит под сомнение. Человеческий разум возведён в высший критерий истины и мудрости. Порочные уклады жизни, возникающие из развращённых желаний и страстей, прикрываются доводами разума и провозглашаются как справедливые и разумные.
Мир погрузился в беспросветную тьму неверия, и это несомненно указывает на то, что уже наступают последние времена.
«Держи, что имеешь, дабы кто не восхитил венца твоего», — говорит Господь Церкви Филадельфийской, верной Церкви, которая и встретит Господа в день Его второго пришествия (Откровение 3).
Возлюбленная Церковь Филадельфийская «не имеет много силы», по слову Господа, но за ее верность Он обещал сохранить ее от «искушения, грядущего на вселённую». Это искушение, предсказанное Св. Писанием, настанет при конце мира, когда антихрист воздвигнет всемирное гонение на верных христиан. Господь обещает укрепить верующих в Него и помочь перенести грядущие бедствия, только бы мы сохранили верность Ему.
Что от нас требуется, чтобы устоять в искушении? По евангельской притче, мы только тогда сможем перенести все невзгоды и сохранить веру, если мы утвердим наш дом на камне заповедей Христовых.
Дом, построенный на песке без основания, может быть удобным и красивым. Но в действительности, он обречен. Когда найдёт наводнение, он неизбежно разрушится. Так будет с теми, кто не полагает Евангелие в основание своей жизни, а руководствуется земными расчётами.
Прежде всего будем хранить преданное нам сокровище – истинную, непорочную Церковь. У нас не много силы, и мы не способны на великие подвиги. Но Господь и не требует от нас многого. Он ждёт от нас только, чтобы мы обратились к Нему с открытым сердцем, без лукавства и лицемерия. «Приблизьтесь к Богу, и Он приблизится к вам». (Послание Ап. Иакова 4:8).

Christ is Risen!
Beloved in the Lord fathers, brothers and sisters,
“My soul magnifies Him Who willingly suffered and was buried and rose again from the tomb on the third day.” – thus we sing at Paschal matins.
Christ is risen, for death could not hold the Author of life. He became the firstborn from the dead, opening the way to resurrection for all who believe in Him.
May our souls rejoice in the Lord, Who so loved the human race, Who created us and brought us into this life. Blessed be God, the One Who Is, the source of life and immortality, Who has poured life for us from His abundance of life.
Blessed be God, Who by His divine breath has made us living souls in His own image and likeness. We are God’s offspring, as the Apostle says.
Blessed be God, Who has not despised us when we fell away from Him through the deception of the devil but has raised us up with Himself and made us capable of living with Him forever.
“Blessed be our God, Who was well pleased to arrange all things for us in this way. Glory to Thee!” (Liturgy).
Why do so many abandon God and refuse to believe in Him?
When a trustworthy person tells us something, we usually accept his story on faith, without requiring proof. How, then, can one doubt the divinely revealed truth, foretold by the prophets, preached by the apostles, expounded by the holy fathers, witnessed by the martyrs and countless assemblies of saints? It is sheer folly to deny an obvious truth affirmed by so many witnesses.
The words of the holy Apostle Paul about the pagans, who did not know Christ, apply fully to modern humanity: “Claiming to be wise, they became fools… And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their depraved way of thinking and to all types of vile behaviour”. (Romans 1).
And now, two thousand years later, we have again come to the same starting point.
Mankind has erected a huge idol of human reason, which everyone must worship, from childhood to old age.
The proud, self-confident human mind considers everything inferior to itself, it passes judgment on everything and questions everything. Human reason is established as the criterion of truth and wisdom. The impure ways of life arising from depraved desires and passions are justified by the arguments of reason and proclaimed as just and appropriate.
The world has plunged into the impenetrable darkness of unbelief, and this undoubtedly indicates that the end times are already at hand.
“Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown,” says the Lord to the Church of Philadelphia, the faithful Church that will meet the Lord on the day of His Second Coming (Rev. 3).
The beloved Church of Philadelphia “doesn’t have much strength” according to the Lord’s word, but for her faithfulness He has promised to preserve her from “the temptation which is coming upon the whole world.” This temptation, foretold by the Holy Scriptures, will come at the end of the world, when the Antichrist will raise a worldwide persecution against faithful Christians. The Lord promises to strengthen those who believe in Him and help us endure the coming calamities, if only we remain faithful to Him.
What is required of us to withstand temptation? According to the Gospel parable, only then will we be able to endure all adversities and keep the faith if we establish our house on the rock of Christ’s commandments.
A house built on sand without a foundation may be comfortable and beautiful. But it is doomed. When a flood comes, it will inevitably collapse. This will be the case with those who do not base their lives on the Gospel, but are guided by worldly calculations.
Above all, let us hold fast to the treasure entrusted to us – the true, immaculate Church. We have little strength, and we are not capable of great feats. But the Lord does not demand much from us. He expects only that we turn to Him with an open heart, without guile and hypocrisy. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8).
